A traditional home network is geared to deliver data in an unsynchronized fashion. But unsynchronized data often leads to a poor video streaming experience. UWB-over-Coax also offers cost savings in home AV network installations, taking advantage of the coax already present in most homes to connect devices between rooms. Within a room, wireless UWB access can be used to provide mobility and reduce the number of cables required to connect devices. UWB-over-Coax is capable of data rates up to 480 Mbps (payload rates up to 400 Mbps), more than enough for the delivery of rich multimedia content distribution around the home, and can coexist with digital cable signals and MoCA® on the same wire.
