TEL AVIV, ISRAEL and NEWARK, CA–(Marketwire – October 1, 2009) – Today, CopperGate Communications Ltd., the
Everywire Home Networking Company™, announced that CopperGate’s Vice
President of Business Development Nadav Katsir will be a featured speaker
at Set-Top Box 2009,
which runs from October 6 – 7 in San Jose, California.

During his session, titled, “The Future of Whole-Home Entertainment
Networking,” Katsir will describe the integrated whole-home entertainment
network, along with futuristic applications such as the smart grid. He’ll
show how these applications will eventually migrate to a single “mesh”
network of existing wires that are robust, reliable, cost-effective, and
plug and play. Mr. Katsir will also discuss the emerging G.hn standard for
wired home networks and will show how the wireless technology will fit into
the wholly connected home.

Katsir will join top executives and technologists who will share their
insights about advancements in technologies, services, consumer behaviors
and alternative service providers for the operators, CPE/CE OEMs, content
providers, technology suppliers and software/application vendors who plan
to attend the show.

Executive Quotes:

Nadav Katsir, Vice President of Business Development:

“During my presentation at Set-Top Box, I’ll talk about the future of
whole-home networking, which already exists in customers’ homes — coaxial
cable, phoneline, and powerline. Existing wires offer enough bandwidth for
media-rich applications today and for key applications in the future.
Today, the HomePNA standard offers the best path for distributing
bandwidth-intensive entertainment and broadband applications throughout the
home using an existing wires approach. And CopperGate-enabled IPTV has
generated more than $1 billion in new revenues for service providers.”

“During my session, participants will hear about the emerging G.hn
standard, which will enable consumer electronic devices such as TVs,
set-top boxes, video download equipment, media storage solutions and gaming
devices to connect with personal computers and home networking equipment
such as routers, wireless access points, Internet gateways, Optical
Terminal Networks (ONTs) and iNIDs. G.hn represents the true potential of
home entertainment networking. This universal standard delivers the
ultimate in performance with the highest level of interconnectivity among
devices in the home.”
